Arctic Adventure Book List
Creating monthly book lists is one of our favorite things to do when putting our sensory kits together! Exposure to books is so important for young children as they build language skills.
We love utilizing our local library to keep our book rotation updated. Below are some of our favorite books that remind us of the snowy arctic.
Little Owl’s Snow by Divya Srinivasan
Little Owl goes on another adventure when he experiences his very first snow! Follow along with Little Owl as he flies through the winter wonderland that is the snowy forest. This is the perfect book for little readers to come back to all winter long.
Snowballs by Lois Ehlert
This is such a fun book to enjoy with even the youngest readers. With a simple story and so many fun pictures of snow people decorated with everyday items, this is a great book to build vocabulary as you point out the different decorations on the snow family and truly highlights how magical winter can be!

We could not make a winter book list without adding this classic! Join Peter on his snowy day adventures around his neighborhood. Highlighting the simple joys of a day spent in the snow, this book is both nostalgic and timeless!

A fun winter twist on a classic nursery rhyme! This is such a fun series with a predictable cadence that little readers can recite along with you as you read.
Snow by Cynthia Rylant
Snow days as a child are truly magical! This book perfectly captures what it’s like to wake up and see snow falling and know that you are about to have a snowy adventure! This book would be perfect to read after a day spent playing in the snow while sipping hot chocolate.

It’s no secret that we are big fans of Jan Brett, her books are perfect for cozy winter nights.
